Fifth Week Assignment:
The assignment for this week is:
1- Design and 3D print an object (small, few cm) that could not be made subtractively.
i love music and i can't spend a day without listening to some cheeing music but we all face that problem! :D
so i decided to solve that problem and work on my 3D-Design skills as i promised, here we go!
I'm going to design and print an ear-bud which consists of two parts, the earbud itself and the cover.
i imagined it something that look like a screw to be easy for rollin up my headphones' cable, and hollow from inside to put the headphones in after rolling up.
then we get to the cover design step, we need it to fit in the ear but and have a groove to slide the cable through.
i was so happy with the progress in my skills at designing using Inventor and here we get to the test, i can rate my skills after it turns into real with 3D Printer.
i started with the cover and it was a good start!
I did the 3D Printing part using Makerware the official software for Makerbot.
then i printer the earbud itself.
AND IT WORKED!!
it need some upgrages like it has to be more smaller and add a hole to fix the jack in, i will be printing Ver1.1 soon :D

2- 3D Scan an object
it was quite hard to scan an object without having a 3D Scanner or Kinect and having a slow connection :D
Due to the condition of not having a 3D Scanner, i has no way but using 123D Catch.
i spent much time in thinking of something to scan, then i remembered that we always had a problem of having good and low-price robotics wheels.
Let's scan a pre-made wheel, to print it later if we had a good result.
i took about 40 photos by the way of fixing the camera and spinning the object, then i uploaded them.
TIME FOR EDITING!
I'm not satisfied with the final result, but it's a good trial which i've learnt from.
